Pro-Life:

I support the sacred protections for the life of the unborn child. I support the ban on partial-birth abortion and human cloning. I also reject euthanasia as a response to mental and/or physical illnesses or disabilities. I will fight to protect the most vulnerable in our society.

Pro-Small Business:

Small businesses are the engine of our economy. As a second-generation small business owner of a grocery store, I understand the enormous problems that face Michigan businesses. The role of government is not to manage the economy from Lansing. Its role is to remove the obstacles standing in the way for faster economic growth.

We can start by giving you, the taxpayer, a better return on your investment by allowing you to keep more of your hard-earned income and making state government live within its means.

We must also break free of the bureaucratic red tape that continues to stifle job growth and innovation here at home. I stand for a common-sense, bold new direction that rewards hard-working taxpayers and job providers.

I believe we must:

• Ease our tax burden and create a transparent state budget that only spends what we can afford.

• Create jobs and a healthy economy.

• Make stronger investments in education and cap rising tuition costs.

• Promote policies that enhance the quality of life for Michigan families.

Education:

Michigan’s children deserve the best education available. Our state’s economic future depends heavily on an innovative and well-educated work force. We must make sure they are prepared to compete for 21st Century jobs.

I place a priority on educational improvement. This is attained through a combination of consistent funding spent on classroom instruction, rigorous curriculum standards, and school district accountability.

I support enacting tough tuition restraint policies that will keep our colleges and universities affordable. We must also allow high school students to have greater access to community college instruction prior to graduation.

Pro-Second Amendment:

I believe that an individual has the right to keep and bear arms and that the second amendment conveys that individual right to every American. To erode this constitutional right is unacceptable.
